Pet Ultrasound
Animal Emergency of Gainesville is pleased to offer ultrasound services to give our patients additional diagnostic imaging in addition to x-rays.
Pet Ultrasound
Ultrasound technology uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of your pet’s internal organs. Ultrasounds are often non-invasive procedures that image your pet’s body using a hand-held scanner or probe and ultrasonic gel to increase contact and obtain a more precise image. Given that ultrasounds do require the patient to remain motionless, a mild sedative may be necessary to help the animal rest. We can diagnose several conditions with the use of an ultrasound.
Additionally, ultrasound can be used to assess the condition or presence of puppies or kittens that a pregnant animal is carrying.
